Dean Wetton, Lead Advisor and Founder
Dean Wetton founded DWA in 2009, recognising the need for a fresh approach to providing investment advice to trustees: an approach that delivered straightforward, clear advice in a cost-effective way. Dean has wide experience of advising clients on a range of investment issues, having previously been Head of the Manager Evaluation Function at P-Solve Asset Solutions, where he chaired the Manager Evaluation Committee. Prior to P-Solve, Dean was a senior member of Hewitt’s Manager Research Team, leading the Hewitt global practice in usage and development of third-party risk models. He was also responsible for coordinating the European Private Equity research programme at Hewitt. Dean graduated from the University of Natal (South Africa) in 1991 with a BComm (Hons) degree in Business Administration and subsequently obtained his MBA in 2001 from the Wits Business School (Johannesburg). He is a CFA charter holder.
Damian Mitcham, Quantitative Adviser
Damian provides quantitative research support to Dean Wetton Advisory. He founded Finalytic in 2010 to provide expert asset liability modelling, economic scenario generators and reporting solutions to pension schemes, charities, insurance companies and banks. Damian has worked in the financial industry since 1995 and has previously provided investment consulting advice to UK pension schemes. He has a degree in Pure Mathematics & Theoretical Physics.
Craig Tilsley, Quantitative Adviser
Craig provides quantitative research support to DWA and has over 20 years’ industry experience, having worked for 10 years at Old Mutual and a further 10 years for Fifth Quadrant Actuaries & Consultants. At Fifth Quadrant, Craig designed and developed systems for Defined Benefit pension fund valuations, asset modelling, asset / liability matching and investments unitisations. He was also part of the qualitative asset manager research team. Craig also runs Data Source Software Systems (Pty) Ltd, a South Africa based financial services software development, maintenance and consulting company. He has a B.Compt from UNISA (South Africa) with majors in Accounting and Auditing. He also has an additional major in Economics and is a CFA charter holder.
Peter Hill-King, Researcher
Peter Hill-King has been advising pension funds and managing multi-manager products for over 15 years. His expertise extends across asset classes from long-only equities and fixed income to private equity, infrastructure, real assets and hedge funds. Prior to joining DWA, Peter was Head of Manager Selection at F&C, where he was responsible for all aspects of the manager selection and portfolio construction process. He also contributed to the management of fiduciary clients at P-Solve, including chairing the Manager Evaluation Committee. Prior to this he spent six years at Aon advising both Aon Asset Management and Aon Consulting on manager selection. Peter graduated from Coventry University with a first class degree in Financial Economics, and has been awarded a Masters in Finance degree at the University of Exeter. He is a CFA charter holder.
