Brian Hague
Brian has 40 years' experience in financial services, initially within banks and insurance. He has 15 years’ experience within employment benefit consulting, principally with Bacon & Woodrow. Here he was responsible for researching the Group DC delivery marketplace, covering both external Third Party Administrators and providers of bundled investment and administration. He subsequently advised a range of companies, including FT-SE 100 firms. Not a believer in the traditional “cliff-edge” model of retirement, Brian has conducted a number of consultancy projects since retiring from Hewitt in 2004.
Stephan Breban
Stephan Breban has more than 20 years’ experience, researching and advising pension plans on private equity investment and GP/fund of funds selection. As founder of City Capital Partners in 2005, the firm has advised on private equity allocations of over $3 billion in the last three years. Prior to founding City Capital Partners, Stephan was a partner at Watson Wyatt, where he built the alternatives research and headed the private equity research team. While at Watson Wyatt, Stephan advised range of global pension plans on investment issues, including manager structures and strategy, investment manager selections, manager monitoring, and general investment consulting.
Paul Boerboom
As founder and Managing Director of Avida International, an international pensions consulting firm, Paul Boerboom has led the redesign of investment and risk management solutions for many pension funds. He works closely with Trustee Boards and Directors, supporting them in managing their overall investment and risk management processes. Avida International specialises in designing and implementing organisational models for pension funds, which are tailored to their specific context. Avida International is a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investing. Paul holds degrees in Econometrics and Business Economics from Tilburg University. He has completed the Wharton Business Leadership Program and a number of additional courses from Shell and Harvard Business School.
Neil Thomas
Neil is the founder of Independent Investment Reviews (IIR), specialists in assisting UK charities in conducting reviews of their investments. IIR offers investment strategy analysis, manager search and selection and on-going monitoring services to a wide range of UK charities. Prior to this he worked at B-Finance and developed its business in the UK. He started his career as a portfolio manager at Schroder Investment Managers.
