Today, on 19 June 2026, we join the UK’s employee‑owned community in celebrating Employee Ownership Day (EO Day). As a partner of the Employee Ownership Association (EOA), we unite behind this year’s bold theme #OwningIt, recognising the role each of us plays in strengthening employee ownership and amplifying its impact for employees, businesses, communities and the wider economy.
EO Day is more than a date in the diary. It is a people‑powered celebration built to be seen, a moment to recognise our colleagues, share our stories and show what employee ownership looks like in action. It encourages every EO organisation to uplift the leaders, trustees and employee owners who are making a difference. Earlier this month, the UK Employee Ownership Awards were celebrated as part of eoaLive! on 10 June, bringing the EO community together to focus on sector growth and shared impact.
At DWA, EO Day is a moment to reflect on how employee ownership shapes the way we work every day. The EO Framework gives us a structure for this, not as a checklist, but as a way of thinking about how Great EO develops over time. Its four practice areas resonate strongly with our own journey:
Approach: We continue to build shared values and practices that empower colleagues to contribute meaningfully. This shows up in how we collaborate, how we share information and how we make space for different perspectives.
Roles: Clear responsibilities for leaders, owners and governance help us understand the part each of us plays in making EO successful. This clarity supports better conversations, stronger decision‑making and a shared sense of accountability.
Actions: We encourage participation in shaping strategy, innovation and sustainability. Whether through project work, discussions or day‑to‑day problem‑solving, colleagues are supported to influence the direction of the firm.
Results: We recognise the importance of understanding our impact on people and communities. Tools such as the EO Impact Tool help EO businesses track their social and environmental contribution and we are committed to strengthening how we measure and reflect on these areas over time.
These principles guide how we continue to evolve as an employee‑owned business. They help us nurture an ownership mindset, encourage employee voice and support the roles that underpin effective leadership and governance. They also remind us that Great EO is not static, it grows as we grow.
So, how is DWA Owning It today?
We are Owning It by engaging our people meaningfully, strengthening our governance roles and fostering a culture where ownership is lived every day.
We are Owning It by encouraging participation in shaping our strategy, innovation and sustainability efforts.
And we are Owning It by recognising the contribution each colleague makes to our shared success while committing to understand and improve our impact on the communities around us.
As we celebrate EO Day 2026, we honour the people who make DWA what it is. This is how we are #OwningIt. Today and every day.
